Contemporary Istanbul Art Fair

Video Cube program have been shortlisted and curated by Irmak and Ceren Arkman from the Kurye Video Organization team to form three separate screenings.

The 1st selection entitled “City and the Social Man” focuses on our cities and the roles we maintain within social life. The 2nd selection; “Political and Cultural Icons” tries to take a novel look at the major symbols and icons in our lives. The last selection; “Fragmented Body and the Self” brings together videos, some of them quite neurotic, about the fragments and the fragmentation of the body and the self.

For its 2011 edition, within its annual ‘New Horizons’ section, Contemporary Istanbul focuses on art from the Gulf region. As well as the galleries (FA GALLERY from Kuwait, EOA PROJECTS from Saudi Arabia, GREEN ART GALLERY, THE EMPTY QUARTER, ETEMAD GALLERY, XVA GALLERY from Dubai) art institutions, important collectors, editors of contemporary art magazines and artists coming from the region.
